I cannot in good faith tell you that the line about her having my back, and my getting her front, are an homage to the Kinks’ “Sunny Afternoon”, wherein Ray suggests, “Give me two good reasons why I ought to stay”, but I have come, over the intervening years, to recognize their kinship.
