I consider myself gay adjacent, definitely not a homo or transphobe.

Over two decades ago, when the internet was a gathering of phorae (forums) I joined one such, and the owner of the forum pushed a book the Pink Swastika. I rejected that hypothesis, as Hitler had the homosexuals in the Sturmabeitlung murdered in the night of the long knives, and that gays were sent to Dachau, etc and had to wear pink triangles.

But now with Peter Thiel, JD Vance, Bessent and who knows who else (not to mention Andrew Sullivan a transphobic gay man, and of course the Log Cabin Republicans, I have to rethink my assumptions.

The Republican party and it's theocratic bigoted base are hostile to gays and their life, yet here we have the nations wealthiest and most influential gays pushing the party further to the bigoted right.

Do they know something that we don't, that maybe money inures one to political oppression.

Like the anti abortion crowd, the only people hurt are the poor, the middle class that can't afford to travel, the daughters, wives, mistresses of the wealthy will always have access to safe abortion.

Well. This is a fascinating question, isn’t it. You definitely bring up some interesting points. I just wish that there were a separation of public and private as well as of Church and State. And that our public officials would govern for the people.
